Kontogialos Corfu - Pelekas Beach
Along the west coast are some of Corfu’s most beautiful beaches. One of them is Kontogialos, also known as Pelekas beach, which is distanced about 13 km from Corfu town.
Kontogialos was famous as a “hippy paradise” before 15-20 years, but now is a quiet and beautiful place that offers relaxing moments for all the ages. Has golden sand and are plenty of olive and PEYKA trees.

Is well done organized with lifeguards and a warning flag system. Can be accessed by two roads and there is adequate parking at the northern end.
Along the beach there are various tavernas, beach bars, marine sports facilities (water ski, boats for rent) and on the road you can find a couple of mini markets.
Also for other facilities, like car and motorbike rental, tourist agencies and bank exchanges, there is the village of Pelekas just above the beach.
Also for Pelekas there is a bus service from Corfu town (San Rocco Square) with blue busses which leave at 07.00, 10.00, 12.00, 14.15, 16.00, 18.00 and 20.30, the ticket (buy before boarding the bus) costs 0,75 euro and the journey takes 30 minutes. Then from Pelekas, every half an hour, there is a municipal bus with no extra cost with destination Kontogialos and Glyfada beach.
